APP

DESCRIPTION

APP is a fine-particle ammonium polyphosphate produced by aspecial method. The product is largely insoluble in water and completely insoluble in organic solvents. It is white, non-hygroscopic and non-flammable, whose crystalline form is II, n>1000.

APPLICATIONS

APP may be mostly used in intumescent coating, polyurethane foams and cellulose (for example: paper and wood). Because of its high heat stability, APP is an essential component in intumescent formulations for thermoplastics, particularly polypropylene, for which the classification UL 94-V0 is specified for application in the electrical sector.

APP-101

DESCRIPTION

APP101 is a product based on ammonium polyphosphate. It is manufactured from APP with melamine resin according to I-TAI’ own method.

APP101 differs from APP in the following properties:

  • marked reduction in water soluble constituents
  • marked reduction viscosity in aqueous suspension
  • marked enhance wetting out or compatibility with polymers or resins because it’s surface energies changed
  • improved powder flowability
  • improved spuming when explosed in fire
  • increasing the amount of product added because it’s lower phosphorus content.

APPLICATIONS

APP101 can be used for all applications ammonium polyphosphate is suitable.

APP101 can be used advantageously in intumescent coating for exterior applications where the ammonium polyphosphate is required to have extremely low water solubility and where lower heat stability at temperatures above 300℃ contributes to more rapid foaming of the coating.

Intumescent coatings

On account of its low water solubility,I-TAI APP101 is particularly suitable as an acid donor for intumescent coatings. Other essential components of intumescent systems include a bimder,a carbon donor and a blowing agent.

Steel structures coated with intumescent paints can meet the requirements of fire resistance classes specified in DIN 4102.

The application of APP101 based intumescent coatings on wood or plastic enables these materials to qualify for building material class B1(DIN4102). APP101 imparts a good flame retardant effect to adhesives and sealants when it is incorporated into the base formulation at the rate of 15-20%.

Polyurethane foams

APP101 is a suitable non-halogenated flame retardant for PU foams. If handing of APP101 as a solid is not possible we recommend the dosage of the flame retardant by preparing a APP101/polyol-suspension.Because of the low acid number of APP101,it is also possible to incorporate this flame retardant in a APP101/isocyanate suspension. To prevent the solid from setting, the APP101suspension should be stirred or circulated by pump.

Other applications

APP101 has an excellent flame-retardant effect in cellulose-containing materials such as paper and wood products. With chipboard products, the DIN 4102 B1classification can be achieved by adding 15-20% APP101.Casting resins based on epoxy resins or unsaturated polyester resins achieve the classification UL94-V0 with APP101.

APP-102

DESCRIPTION

APP102 is a product based on ammonium polyphosphate. It is manufactured from APP with silicone resin according to I-TAI’ own method.

APP102 differs from APP in the following properties:

  • marked reduction in water soluble constituents
  • marked reduction viscosity in aqueous suspension
  • marked enhance wetting out or compatibility with polymers or resins because it’s surface energies changed
  • improved powder flowability

APPLICATIONS

APP102 can be used for all applications ammonium polyphosphate is suitable.

APP102 can be used advantageously in intumescent coating for exterior applications where the ammonium polyphosphate is required to have extremely low water solubility.

APP-104

APPLICATIONS

APP104 is treated by multiprocessing. It makes APP104 lower water-solubility, which makes APP104 suspension of water less saponaceous than other APP breed. APP104 is suitable for UP resin, Epoxy and textile coating.
