ACETYLENOL™ Series

The ACETYLENOL™ series is an acetylenic nonionic surfactant obtained by adding ethylene oxide to acetylene glycol (2,4,7,9-tetramethyl-5-decyne-4,7-diol). By varying the mole unit of ethylene oxide from 1 mol to 20 mol, different end product of ACETYLENOL™ series can be synthesized for various purpose.

Characteristics of ACETYLENOL

ACETYLENOL™ series are tertiary alcohols consisting of one acetylene bond and ether bond of polyethylene glycol. Below are the characteristics derived from its molecular structure:

  • Extremely low foaming.

  • Excellent anti-foaming performance.

  • Excellent penetrating power which is expect to improve wettability.

  • Excellent leveling performance (smoothness).

  • Excellent chemical resistance, stable in strong alkaline solution.

  • Good compatibility with various solvents.

  • It is stable to temperature and ultraviolet rays and does not attack metal.

  • Synergistic effect with various surfactants is expected.

ACETYLENOL Application

The excellent characteristics of ACETYLENOL™ series is used in a wide range of application such as paints, inks, surface cleaning, metal surface treatment, fiber treatment, paper manufacturing industry, electronic materials, agricultural chemicals etc.
